Zone 27

John Edlund Perpetual Trophy - Hugh Krijnen & Sue Edlund Zone 27 Camp was held from Monday, 15th to Friday, 19th April 2013 at Gunning Showground. After fitness & gear check on Monday afternoon, there was a demonstration by Horse Handler, Greg Powell which inspired all riders young and old. Children were ready to start lessons bright and early on Tuesday morning where they received instruction on Cross Country, Showjumping, Dressage, Campdrafting, Sporting, Polo-X, Troop Formations and Stockmans Challenge. Children and parents were also entertained by a vaulting demonstration in which 2 members of Marulan PC performed along with the other vaulters being representatives of NSW. There was guest speaker, Natalie Blundell and with the aid of Terry Hart and his helpers the children were able to make their own rope lead. The Gunning Showground has great facilities enabling areas for instruction on all disciplines offered during Camp. Congratulations to Sarah Hannan who was awarded the John Edlund Perpetual Trophy, awarded annually at Zone Camp, where John always played a major part. John, an expert horseman and dedicated Pony Clubber, John had great rapport with the kids at Pony Club, and was deeply interested in their horsemanship and riding skills. Well done to all riders on your excellent manners and behavior. Lastly, a huge Thank You to all who helped with the running of camp whether big or small your generous support is greatly appreciated. Hope to see you all again next camp.
